The project involved a fundamental service review of the maintenance function (in conjunction with reviews of other FM services such as cleaning, catering, etc.). The Maintenance function was a direct labour organisation that had an annual spend of £25m including an element of capital works. The work involved baseline data collection / interviews, benchmarking and the establishment of areas for performance improvement and cost reduction. The work led to the development of a target operating model for maintenance services and was supported by the development of an options appraisal and business case documentation for board approval.
